Our Process

We treat each project as a unique opportunity to initiate a dialogue with our clients about their needs and their specific site. Our process gives voice to all the influences that affect our work: the client's program, the project's location, the character of its context, and the user's expectations. We work collaboratively with our consultants, our colleagues, and the community to explore those influences which will be critical in helping us fulfill our clients' aspirations.

After an initial phase of analysis and research, we request the personal participation of our clients in an open exploration of the issues. We then propose several alternative solutions. A thoughtful comparison of these alternatives usually leads to a compelling final direction. Throughout the process of proposition and evaluation we gradually widen our collaborative circle to include consultants, colleagues and communities.

Our ongoing work with nationally-recognized designers and design firms has increased our knowledge of how social communities are created, how places are made, and how buildings can be extended into the site. Our work has deepened our understanding of sustainability in design and led us to develop good practices in construction administration. We have mastered the art of working collaboratively with complex teams of clients, consultants and colleagues.
