Mercer Place
The Mercer Place project is a 2.5 acre, Mixed Use, Urban Infill development of approximately 100 dwelling units with 6500 square feet of commercial and up to 8 live-work units. The project is located near the middle of the Over The Rhine neighborhood, just north of downtown Cincinnati. Over The Rhine is an historic neighborhood that holds the largest collection of Italianate buildings in the United States. The vision for the project by the developer, Eagle Realty Group, was to create a catalyst for further development in the economically depressed, but resurgent neighborhood.
The project includes the rehabilitation of a full block of 3 and 4 story, brick rowhouses, and the construction of 7 new buildings on mostly vacant land. We planned for the extension of a street into the center of the project site, integrating the street grid of the surrounding neighborhood into the heart of the project. The new buildings of the project are designed to be built over a single, underground level of garage.
glaserworks provided the master planning and architectural design services for the project. The project site has instead been sold to the Cincinnati Public School system to house a relocated neighborhood school.
