Cincinnati Street Car

Cincinnati's streetcar initiative came as a result of the glaserworks Master Plan for the Brewery District of the historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. Thinking beyond the boundary lines of our task at hand, we ushered the brainstorm that came up with the idea and helped analyze the urban planning obstacles and effects that a new line would have in Cincinnati's urban core. glaserworks' staff, led by Mike Moose, composed a presentation that communicated to residents, business leaders, developers and public officials what the benefits of a Cincinnati Streetcar line might be and where it might go.

Streetcars promote growth and economic development in a myriad of ways. They make housing more affordable, bring in more customers to support retail, improve property values, create a more vibrant city, and increase public safety by populating neighborhoods. Investment comes to areas served by streetcars because, unlike wheeled buses, streetcar rails don't move.

Aside from the considerable financial investment that streetcars bring, they add to the cosmopolitan lifestyle of a city. The Cincinnati Streetcar will do exactly that, and we are proud to have been a critical generator and proponent of the idea since its inception.
