The U.S. Green Building Council is a non-profit community of leaders working to make green buildings available to everyone within a generation. Chapters are the local voice of the USGBC. Established in 2001, the Cincinnati Regional Chapter provides green building education and advocacy to the region through several member circles composed of passionate and tireless volunteers.
As a result of her work at glaserworks on green schools, Heather Wehby began volunteering with the Cincinnati Regional Chapter and now serves on the Board of Directors. She worked to establish the Green Schools Members Circle and reinvigorate the Emerging Green Builders Committee. In 2009, she organized the Natural Talent Design Competition in which students and young professionals imagined a new green facility for the Drop Inn Center in Over-the-Rhine. glaserworks hosted jury deliberations and selections. Heather presented awards to the winning teams at an event held at Cincinnati State. As a result of her efforts, the Emerging Green Builders Committee has strong leadership, diverse membership and hosts numerous events in its continuing evolution.
As a member of the Board of Directors, Heather is working to grow the Chapter financially and expand its resources in preparation for hosting the Greening the Heartland Conference in 2011.
